Information

The Kensington Town Hall Place and Space Residency invites an artist to develop a vibrant, site-responsive activation that responds to Kensington Town Hall and its surrounding community.

The 10-month residency includes free studio space and a $10,000 artist fee. The final project outcome must be capable of being captured and presented via screen or projection at Kensington Town Hall at the end of the residency.

Applicants are advised to read the Guidelines thoroughly before proceeding with an application.

Eligibility

In submitting my application, I agree to have complied with the following:

  • I have read and understood the guidelines and my proposal complies with the application requirements, conditions and eligibility.
  • will submit only one application 
  • will complete the residency between 11 January to 3 October 2027 
  • will present the work developed during the residency via screen or projection at Kensington Town Hall from 18 September 2027
  • will work with local community to help shape the work – connection to local community will be provided by City of Melbourne Neighbourhoods Team 
  • have no overdue acquittals for City of Melbourne grants 
  • have no debts to the City of Melbourne 
  • comply with additional grant eligibility and terms and conditions
